Sleepy’s Feature: Sleep Options

Sleepy’s is proud to announce that we are donating mattresses to a family in need as their home gets completely remodeled on this season of ABC’s hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.  The Sleepy’s mattress donation comes courtesy from their exclusive mattress brand, Sleep Options.  The Johnson-Goslee family in Mardela Springs, Maryland was surprised September 28th with the generous and well-deserved home makeover.

The Johnson-Goslee Family

Last Christmas Eve, 16-year-old Wyzhir Johnson-Goslee got into a tragic accident while doing his best at completing much needed repairs to his family’s home with his grandfather.  That fateful Christmas Eve, Wyzhir’s jacket got caught in a fast moving machine saw and in an attempt to get his jacket out of the saw’s teeth, fell backwards causing the saw to fall on his hand and sever it.  Wyzhir went through numerous surgeries and therapies but unfortunately his hand could not rehabilitate and lost his left hand.

Living in an 80 year old home that has no “in-ground” foundation, the Johnson-Goslee’s home has been unevenly settling since it was built and has left their house in complete disrepair.  The walls are not leveled with each other and the ceilings are a whopping two feet shy of the standard height, only coming in at six feet high.  The Johnson-Goslee family deserves a home that is beautiful and functional and with the mattresses donated from Sleep Options, they will be sleeping great each and every night in their newly remodeled home.  Sleep Options will be donating four of their 8 inch memory foam mattresses to the Maryland family.

Sleep Options' 8 inch Memory Foam Mattress

Sleepy’s is the exclusive retailer of Sleep Options mattresses.  What makes Sleep Options stand out in a crowd of mattresses is all in their name, options.  When it comes to Sleep Options mattresses, you can pick whether you want either memory foam or natural latex mattresses.  Once you’ve decided on what your Sleep Options mattress is made of then you can pick the height of the mattress which can be 8”, 11” or even 13”

Both the memory foam mattress and the latex mattress are body contouring materials that relieve pressure points and diminish tossing and turning.  One of the only differences between the two mattresses is that the memory foam mattress is man made and the latex mattress originates from the natural sap of a rubber tree.  Both mattresses from Sleep Options are antimicrobial and resistant to mold, mildew and dust mites.  The Latex mattress is also hypoallergenic.  All Sleep Options mattresses come with a 10 year warranty and can fit on either a standard or low profile foundation.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs on ABC Sunday nights.  Check your local listing for times.  And don’t forget to stop by your local Sleepy’s showroom and visit Sleepys.com for our upcoming Election Day Sale!

Sleepy’s On Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

As part of its ongoing  Bedder Days effort to ensure people are getting a great night’s sleep, Sleepy’s has joined forces with the ABC hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and made a donation to provide a family in need with brand new mattresses.  The Springfield, Massachusetts family suffered a devastating loss when their 11-year old son took his own life after falling victim to bullying at school.

The grief stricken family has not slept in their bedrooms (one of which was where their son was found), and have been sleeping on couches and rollaway beds for the past two years.  In an attempt to provide this family with restful, supportive and well-deserved sleep, Sleepy’s has provided six new mattresses for the children, mother and grandmother who all live in the home together.

The ninth season of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition begins Sunday September 25th at 8/7 central on ABC.  Be on the lookout later this fall for the episode in which Sleepy’s provides a mattress donation to the Massachusetts family.  Bedder Days partners with service organizations to bring basic bedding to people in need.
